Okay, so first things first -- the big news from yesterday: i got a pretty fat raise at work, which made me smile. Aparently, I am getting it early too, which is even better.

Weekend update:
Friday - dinner with Luis, Eric & Yvonne at Tenko in Irvine and then a viewing of "Kill Bill v.2". Like the movie, not such a fan of the restaurant.

Saturday - got my hair done and drove for 2 and a half hours in squall-like weather down to San Diego. At times I could barely see the road -- it was intense. Once down there, I hung out with my Dad in his temporary Coronado digs. Went to a 3 hour dinner with 2 of his friends, where we proceded to drink 2 and a half bottles of wine, a beer each, dinner, dessert, espresso and sambucca. Intense...My dad's friends are hillarious!

Sunday - Drove around the island of Coronado. Viewed my Dad's ships from a distance. Checked out (what we could as civilians) the naval amphibious base (hot!) and the USS Mercy, which is a naval hospital ship. Then, Dad and I got a hienekin some grub and walked around a classic car show. I was (yet again) amazed by my Dad's knowlegde of classic cars. By 2:45, I was on my way back to the Orange Curtain. Luis came over and we did Laundry and made pizza from scratch.

Monday - just hung out. Cooked dinner for Luis and watched an old Mike Myers movie: "So I Married an Axe Murderer".

Today - must work out!! As I was eating a bag of cheetos today, i suddenly felt (and even though i know I am not) fat...must be in fabulous bathing suit shape by summer...which doesn't leave me much time...

Funniest "had-to-be-there" moment of the weekend: "Yeah, I'm not feelin the waiter so much, but I kinda think he is feelin' me..." spoken by an ex-navy man...hillarious.

Sidenote: was a bit saddened that this was the first wayzgoose in 5 years that i had not had the pleasure of going to...let alone working at...it was strange, but all part of the moving on process. i was so tempted to go check it out, but the weather prompted me to do otherwise...and I am glad...i miss being in school so much, but i have to accept the fact that life moves forward, not retrograde...
