I don't even know where to start...

Not to start this blog on a low note, but one of the most special people I have ever had the pleasure to know passed away the day before Luis and I went to Cancun. My Auntie Ethel in Australia, who should be nominated for saint-hood, was truly a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many. All who knew her were blessed and this is a tremendous loss...

Saturday of last week, Luis and I made our Mexican adventure down to Cancun. I had issues with my bags getting though security, we hit naaaaasty turbulence, Luis got bribed coming into Mexico, and we stayed at quite possibly the coolest hotel in the world. It is an all-inclusive resort, which literally means ALL-inclusive...food, alcohol, everything. We felt like VIP's.
Sunday: Beached it at the hotel
Monday: Chichen Itza
Tuesday: Isla Mujeres and scuba diving and rented a moped and drove around the town
Wednesday: Jungle Tour - had our own 2-person cigarette boat. My hot boyfriend captained the vessel through mangroves and into the ocean where we tied up the boats and jumped off the bow and snorkeled. After dinner, we fell asleep together in a lounge chair on the beach - HOT!
Thursday: Mini-golf & parasailing and just relaxing by the pool (re-charging our batteries, as Luis put it)
Friday: Xcaret - a natural park with archeology, beach stuff, animals, botanical gardens, etc. we sNuba-ed (picture snorkeling with a regulator) 16-20 feet below the surface of the water and floated through an underground river. At the end of the night we watched a Mayan culture show with Dancing and the history of Mexico. Topped off the night with a memorable walk on the beach :)
Saturday: Headed back to OC, but not without comedy. Our shuttle got us to the airport with barely enough time to get through everything. Get to Miami and are delayed on the runway for an hour due to weather. struggled through customs, had a mishap with our connecting flight, and to make a long story short, we got bumped up to first class back to LA. Amazing experience! Good food, movies, kicking back in the awesomely HUGE chairs...it was lovely...

All in all, I had a wonderful time. Aside from a couple of personal issues I was facing while I was there, it couldn't have been better. I was in paradise with the guy I love...

SWEET!! PR task numer 1: complete! I have been in touch with my first publication today to coordinate some exposure on our company...Of course, being as it may, things sort of backfired and we missed the deadline for print for next week, but that was of no fault of mine. I only assumed this new position at the end of last week and discovered this publication possibility late yesterday afternoon, so I have made great strides all things considered! Being the nerd that I am - I am excited about making my PR plan!!

Hehheehe - today I have been showing off my new bling - and let me say, it has been turning some heads! :)

Molly moved most of her stuff yesterday, which was so strange...

Off to lunch...

2 Blogs in one day!

I am so happy I can't stop smiling...

Song of the day: "The Last High" by The Dandy Worhols (I can't spell today...)
So great!

Quote of the day: "The chief danger in life is that you may take too many precautions."
- Alfred Adler (1870 - 1937)

Okay, so I think someone has finally heard my voice, and now it is time to test my abilities...This morning I was assigned a PR project...essentially, I have been given the task to research, develop, and construct a method of implementation (within budget constraints) of a professional PR plan...hehehehehehehe - i am giddy with the potential and this is finally a step in the direction I am driven toward...Now I have to prove myself - which is both exciting and terrifying...

This weekend was amazing. Drove to San Diego - hung out with the parents for friday and saturday. went drinking with my mom in the gas lamp district, which was really fun. Saw my dad's ship and chilled in Old Town for a while. My grandparents even came down for an afternoon to hang out with us. Sunday I was reunited with Luis and I haven't been able to stop smiling since!! It is so great to spend time with him again. :)

Happy Friday the 13th all y'all!

A week in recap - starting with last weekend:

Friday night: Improv to see Dave Attel with Andy, his coworkers, Silvia, Julie, & Dustin. After the show Julie, Silvia and I went for a last drink at the Yard House and had girlie time. It was fun.
Saturday night: Eve's 35th Birthday Bash in HB with Meera and Molly...Holy hell...this was a crazy fun night...Molly was DD so Meera and I DRANK...Eve's boyfriend Paul was bartender and kept handing me drinks all night long and when i would give them away or set them down, he would get all sad and hand me another. I became his overflow buddy, and whenever he made too much for someone, he would pour the rest into 2 glasses : one for me, one for him. We had the best thing of the whole night: Chocolate cake shots!! Instead of the real deal, we took a couple of cake shots and sang happy birthday. (The real cake was available for those who wanted some, but i was happy with the "liquidity"...) Got "pawed" by her icky "crack head neighbor"...almost witnessed a fight that us hot girls would have started as a result of our hottness :) ...took about 6 shots and had too many martinis...tried to hook Meera up with the hot 24 year old friend who hung out with us all night...Molly got asked if she "wanted to go get laid"...and we made a midnight run to taco bell...mmmmmm...Oh, and my boss was there and we sat and talked to her and her husband for a while...interesting...

Sunday: Andy's 25th birthday dinner at Red Robin after discovering my digital camera is broken :(

This week I chose to lay low. I have felt like shit for several days and i am trying to shake it before the weekend. I saw "Princess Diaries" With Julie, which was rad.

I was invited to a Schwab conference yesterday and met the Senior VP of marketing for Schwab the day before that. I volunteered myself to do more PR work for the firm...I may have bit off mroe than I can chew...but we shall see...

Tonight, i am going to San Diego to see my parents and then sunday...I GET TO SEE LUIS!!!! I am so excited!! I have missed him so much!!

So much stuff...

So, I am dropping my extensions class from this session - mostly because I am finding this class to be an enormous waste of my time, let alone my $335.00. I am going to try to obtain a credit and take it again with another instructor...

Last night I ate dinner with Julie and then got a call from Julia (I am surprised I have not called them the wrong names yet!). Met up with Julia at southcoast plaza and found out that she is moving back down here!! She got a job offer back at this store and is heading back to the Orange Curtain!! I was pretty excited! Molly and I are still heading up there for Friday the 13th for Deme's birthday at Lola's which will probably be one of the last times we all hang out at her LA pad before she comes back...

I finally got my pay check issues squared away...I was beyond stressed for most of the day until I knew I had funds...good thing too, because for the first time since I have been living in this apartment they cashed the rent check on the 2nd...So I would have been screwed if I was waiting for my check any longer...Pay roll errors are the pits...and quite frankly, I find the frequency of them to be unacceptable - this was the 4th time this has happened since I have been employed here!

I am to come into work tomorrow casual and ready to clean and organize the entire office...I am really not stoked on the physical labor thing, but it will keep me away from my desk for a while and hopefully force me to not belabor the fact that my job sucks....what irritates me about this is i am continually cleaning and organizing this swill hole, but everyone else refuses to put things back where they belong. If that behavior goes on long enough, it eventually produces chaos...and now, i am taking the day to fix it....faaaaaaaaabulous...

The rest of this week has gone from not being busy to being overbooked! Tomorrow I am going to dinner with G&P and some of their friends then I am off to watch a movie with everyone in Santa Ana. Thursday I am going out with Meera for her birthday celebration, of sorts. Friday I am hoping to hit up Club Vegas with the girls. Saturday, I am going to lunch and shopping with Silvia in the earlier part of the day and then we are going to also get our make-up done (just for fun). At night, I am going to my co-worker's 35th birthday bash in Huntington Beach. (I have also been asked to go to Q's in Pasadena after that with Sil-Dogg and her friends - same crew as from Vegas - but not sure how I can swing that yet...I really want to, but we shall see...) Sunday, I have been invited to a candle party with Julie. I also found out that my parents are flying into San Diego that day, so who knows, maybe I will go down there and spend the night (and just drive back SUPER early).

Next week will be busy too - if anything at work...It is binding & reporting time, so office life always sucks around this time of the quarter. I am going to a Charles Schwab conference next thursday, LA on friday night (see above for reference) and Luis comes home next saturday!! :)

"I don't care where you come from; what you're doing here - all of us are all alone. I don't know where I came from - what I'm doing here - it's so redundant!" From a Midtown song...it has been stuck in my head all day...great song...I have been listening to it when I drive to work in the morning - the redundant part really reminds me of how i feel on a daily basis at my desk...

Tomorrow marks my one year anniversary with the company...

That was a really quick year...

mmmmmkay...

First and foremost - Happy birthday to Meera!!

This weekend was, in essence, a blur of random smatterings...if you will...

Friday: Got HUGELY dissed by my supposed best friend in too long of a story than I would care to recount. Essentially here is what happened: I got blown off because of a temper tantrum and I was given less than 30 days notice she was moving out and aparently I missed the memo that said I should have been understanding about it...(considering the notice was not given for understandable circumstances or necessary departures...) Met up with Silvia and Laura for dinner and drinks to attempt to mend some hurt feelings. Then, met up with Meera for some drinking...

Saturday: Errands, car wash, grandparent's house for dinner. Played paramedic to a family friend...ate some grub food...sat on the freeway at midnight for an hour when i should have been home quick...

Sunday: Breakfast with Julie and Molly and then the fair. Ate a deep fried snickers bar and then wanted to puke shortly thereafter. Julie will be moving into my apartment as of the 1st of September. Found out my paycheck didn't fund. Freaked out and tried to check to see if all my bill checks cleared...

Today - i have class...this is already turning out to be a randomly stressful week...but the best bit is this: I am not freaking out like I should be...I am laughing at it all because there is really nothing else I can do...Every problem has a solution and every solution, be it desireable or undesirable, falls into place eventually...

I am really hungry...
